Fine Art with Integrated Foundation

My practice is rooted in mixed media, through which I explore processes of layering, materiality and transformation. By combining a range of materials and techniques, I construct works that evolve gradually, reflecting the complexities of growth and development both physically and conceptually.
Central to my work are themes of femininity, identity and the formative experience of growing up as a girl. I am particularly interested in how relationships especially friendships, inform and shape personal identity over time. These influences are often embedded within my visual language through the use of the female figure, positioned in dialogue with organic, expanding forms.
I frequently draw on imagery from the natural world, such as roots, branches, butterflies and blooming flowers, as metaphors for growth and transition. These elements allow me to explore transformation as an ongoing and evolving process.
A key aspect of my practice is the use of cut-out techniques to create sharp, high-contrast imagery. By working with bold black and white forms, I am able to emphasise line, shape and negative space, creating visually striking compositions. This process simplifies and abstracts the imagery, allowing the work to remain open to interpretation. The contrast between solid and empty space reflects tensions between presence and absence, as well as the visible and the internal.
The layering within my work, combined with these cut elements, mirrors the ways in which identity is constructed through experience. Ultimately, my practice considers growth as a complex yet generative process, where change holds the potential for renewal and transformation.
